Wishing you a Happy Birthday, and lots of love from you little brother!

The below picture shows the Carstensen kids, in 1967, with Angelika holding the newest addition to the family – Karina.  What a sweet picture :-)

Cutting down a tree

Finally took down the tree at the end of my mother-in-law’s driveway, so that she can safely back out.  Here 2 pictures after we were done.

Football update

Last weekend was not a very good weekend, as the Malden Golden Tornadoes were defeated by number 1 ranked Everett 42:20, dropping the team to 5-3 on the season.  Malden High was down early and often, trailing 35:0 and halftime, but made somewhat of a game in the second half.  But Everett was just too tough this time around.  Next game is Thanksgiving, against Medford, in the second oldest rivalry in high school football in the country.  Good luck Malden.

Christopher’s team also lost last weekend, in the Pop Warner semi final game against Lexington-Bedford.  The Cyclones never really got into a rhythm, trailing early on and ending up losing 29:0. Malden had a great season, going 8-1 overall, but it was disappointing for the team to finish their season this way.  This also marked the end of Christopher’s Pop Warner football career, as next year he will be playing for the high school team.

Football update

Alexander’s team did not play this weekend, and they are getting ready to face number 1 ranked Everett.  Good luck Malden Golden Tornadoes!

Christopher’s team made the play-offs (no surprise, being 7-0 on the season), and faced a tough Concord-Carlisle.  The game was never in doubt, as a very physical Malden beat CC easily 24:6.  I took some video, and as soon as I figure out how to upload from Mini DV format to YouTube, I’ll post a link here.

Christopher’s next game is already Wednesday, but we don’t know the opponent yet.  Go Malden Cyclones!

Alexander’s team beat Somerville 26:0, and the team is now 5-3 on the season.  Unfortunately, he did not get to play, but hopefully he’ll have a chance to play in the next 2 games.  In 2 weeks, they will face number 1 ranked Everett, and hopefully they will put up a good fight (I am of course hoping for a victory!).  Good luck Malden!

Christopher’s game on Sunday was cancelled, due to weather conditions (snow!).  This weekend, the play-offs start, and Malden is seeded 3rd in the tournament.  The Malden Cyclones finished the season undefeated (7-0), and hope to continue the run in the play-offs.  Good luck Cyclones!

Football – week 7

Another good football weekend for Malden.  Alexander’s team crushed Cambridge R&L 53:28, and they are now 4-3 on the season.  Alexander got to play at the end of the game, and here is a link to the 3 snaps he took.  Great job Malden, next week they are playing at Somerville – go Golden Tornadoes!

Christopher’s team played against an underrated 1-5 Lawrence, and squeaked out a 18:14 victory to improve 7-0 on the season.  Next week Malden will finish out the regular season against Chelmsford, here’s hoping for another win and an undefeated season.  Here are some links to today’s game action.  Go Cyclones!

Football – week 6

Alexander’s team beat previously unbeaten and ranked 18 in Mass. Swampscott 29:19, a game which was called Friday night due to lightening, continued on Saturday, with excellent plays on both sides of the ball. Malden is now 3-3 on the season.

Christopher’s team beat powerhouse Acton-Boxboro 18:12 on Sunday, in another game of unbeaten teams. It was an exciting game, with Malden scoring the winning touchdown with 35 seconds left on the clock. Malden is now 6-0 on the season.

I will post some pictures latet this week. Good job Malden, go Golden Tornadoes and Cyclones.

Football – week 5

Alexander’s team lost on Friday against Lynn English, 10:0. They had their chances, but couldn’t score on 4 trips inside the 10. Now Malden is 2-3 on the season, with the next game against Swampscott. Good luck Malden, go Golden Tornadoes.

Christopher’s team stayed undefeated, beating a big Arlington 28:0. Christopher recorded a tackle, nice job, and was a beast both on offense and defense. The Cyclones are now 5-0 on the season, and I am wondering if anyone can stop them this year. Keep going Malden!
